Amerisure’s thought leaders are making an impact within the insurance industry and our communities.
Nic Gaither, Claims Unit Manager, is the first-ever recipient of the LEAD Award (Leadership in Equity & Diversity) presented by Rising Insurance Star Executives, or RISE.
The recognition, which Nic received at the 7th Annual RISE Awards ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a new category recognizing professionals for outstanding efforts in diversity, equity and inclusion. The award “inspires a more diverse and inclusive culture in the industry by those who are leading the way.”
On winning the award, Gaither expressed his passion for creating positive change in society.
“It is certainly an honor to win the first-time LEAD award,” said Gaither. “I’ve sat at the crossroads of diversity, equity & inclusion in my life and career, and wanted to do more if given the opportunity. Having the passion and platform to make changes is what I believe is needed to create a better society.”
RISE is an organization established for insurance industry professionals to grow their career through networking, mentorship, training, recognition, and education. The RISE Awards consist of several categories to recognize top rising talent in the industry. Several nominations are received each year for professionals who are making an impact in their company, community and the industry as a whole.
“I live by a saying ‘Pennies eventually make a dollar, so any small change made today leads to something bigger,” Gaither said.
Nic is Claims Unit Manager at Amerisure, where he is responsible for managing the Memphis and Richmond Worker Compensation teams handling claims for TN, MS, VA, MD, and Washington, D.C.. Since joining Amerisure in 2016 as Field Claims Specialist in Workers’ Compensation, Nic has been focused on achieving the best outcome for claims. He brings over 25 years of claims experience with 10 years in management and claims handling in 18 jurisdictions. Nic earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Hampton University. He currently serves as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ambassador for the company, as well as a member of The National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA).
