Gregory J. Crabb was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of Amerisure Insurance Companies in 2014.
Mr. Crabb joined Amerisure in April 2008 as Chief Administrative Officer, with accountability for Claims, Human Resources, Information Technology, Internal Audit and Legal. In this role, Mr. Crabb developed and led enterprise-wide strategies focused on people, processes, technology, customer service and governance.
Prior to joining Amerisure, Mr. Crabb was a Vice President in Middle Market & Specialty Commercial Division of The Hartford based in Hartford, Connecticut, where he led teams focused on underwriting, marketing and technology solutions. Mr. Crabb also previously served as a Vice President in the Claims Department.
Prior to joining The Hartford in 1997, he was a practicing attorney.
Mr. Crabb serves on the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) Board of Directors and is the immediate past Chair. Currently, he Chairs the Nominating & Governance Committee and serves on the Executive Committee and PAC Board. He also serves on the Board of Business Leaders for Michigan and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan. He is a prior member of both the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance (FACI) - US Department of Treasury and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Mr. Crabb received a Juris Doctorate from Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) from the University of Western Ontario.
Amjed Al-Zoubi is the Chief Information Officer for Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company.
In this role, he leads the information technology (IT) and innovation departments, as well as the business process and portfolio management office at Amerisure. He also leads the Agility Practice Group.
Mr. Al-Zoubi joined Amerisure in 2018 as the Vice President of Application Systems, where he led the development and maintenance of all application systems within IT. He most recently served as the company’s Chief Technology Officer, with overall leadership responsibilities for the IT department, including application development, business intelligence, infrastructure, and security.
Prior to joining Amerisure, he worked in the IT department at USAA Life Company, where he was involved in leading the company’s system and process modernization journey. Mr. Al-Zoubi was also employed with CUNA Mutual Group, where he led the IT application development and production support teams for corporate support functions. His experience at CUNA Mutual Group also included roles leading merger and acquisition integration teams; leading business operations teams; and developing business strategies and program management.
Mr. Al-Zoubi received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. He later earned a Master of Business Administration from the Wisconsin School of Business, Madison, Wisconsin.
Marty Arnold is the Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer for Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company.
Mr. Arnold leads the underwriting strategy in support of Amerisure’s long-term strategic objectives. While driving profitability and growth for underwriting operations, he also oversees the corporate underwriting, underwriting systems and technology, and underwriting product teams.
Prior to joining Amerisure, Mr. Arnold held several leadership roles during his 22-year tenure at SECURA Insurance including Chief Actuary and Chief Underwriting Officer, while also overseeing research and development, reinsurance, and risk management.
Mr. Arnold began his insurance career in 1991 with The St. Paul Companies, where he held a variety of actuarial roles and advanced to serve as Director of Corporate Planning and Development. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management & Insurance and Actuarial Science from the University of Wisconsin School of Business.
He is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and holds the designations of Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe).
Barb Cristea is the Vice President of Internal Audit for Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company.
Ms. Cristea joined Amerisure in 2005 as part of the Internal Audit department. She has since held various leadership positions within the financial services department and Agency Business Solutions, LLC — a subsidiary of Amerisure Mutual Holdings. She most recently served as Vice President, Corporate Controller.
Prior to joining Amerisure, Ms. Cristea worked as the Director of Accounting and Reporting at WellPoint. She also served as a financial analyst for Medical Mutual, and an auditor for EY.
Ms. Cristea received her Bachelor of Science in accounting and business management from Baldwin Wallace University.
Steve Donnelly is the Chief Claims Officer for Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company.
Mr. Donnelly is responsible for the overall development and implementation of claims department policies, procedures and programs ensuring they align with Amerisure’s strategic and operational goals. He also oversees loss cost containment, staffing, budgeting, and claim-related customer service.
He joined Amerisure in 2014 as the Regional Vice President of Claims for the southwest and Midwest regions. In this role, he was responsible for the claim operations in the Dallas, Indianapolis, Farmington Hills, St. Louis, and Phoenix Core Service Centers.
Prior to joining Amerisure, Mr. Donnelly was Vice President and Claims Manager at QBE for their Midwest region. He spent 10 years prior to that at Ohio Casualty (subsequently Liberty Mutual) as a Regional Vice President, among other roles.
Mr. Donnelly has a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa; and a Juris Doctor from DePaul University of Law in Chicago.
Dan Graf is Chief Investment Officer for Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company.
Mr. Graf oversees the investment portfolio of Amerisure Mutual Holdings, Inc. and its insurance subsidiaries. With his strong strategic focus and knowledge of the insurance industry, he is an important member of the key strategic committees within the company.
He began his career with Amerisure in 1986. During his tenure, he has held management positions in accounting, credit collections, investments, and treasury. In 1999, he was promoted to Vice President of Investments.
Mr. Graf is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and history from Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Michigan, and his master’s degree in finance from Walsh College, Troy, Michigan. He also received the associate in accounting and finance (AIAF) insurance designation and completed the Management of Managers program at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Mr. Graf currently serves as a Board member for the following organizations: Michigan Property & Casualty Guaranty Association, Michigan Automobile Insurance Placement Facility, Michigan Colleges Economic Education, Michigan College Alliance, Michigan Manufacturers Association, and Mackinac Center for Public Policy.
Stephanie Haas is Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary for Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company.
In her role, Ms. Haas heads the Office of Legal Counsel which provides legal advice to all aspects of the business, including Finance, Claims, IT, Underwriting Operations and Human Resources. In addition, Ms. Haas provides Corporate Secretarial support to Amerisure’s Board of Directors and is responsible for Amerisure’s Compliance, Litigation and Public Policy/Government Affairs functions. Prior to assuming this role in January 2023, Ms. Haas led corporate litigation at Amerisure and provided legal oversight on underwriting, product, claims, and compliance issues. She also led the organization’s government affairs function.
Prior to joining Amerisure in 2018, Ms. Haas served as vice president and assistant general counsel at QBE Insurance, where she managed complex, high-valued litigation matters and provided legal guidance to various business units. She began her insurance career as a casualty claims adjuster before obtaining her law degree.
Ms. Haas earned a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate (with honors) from the University of Minnesota. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois and with the U.S. Supreme Court.
Angela M. McBride is the Chief Operating Officer for Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company.
Ms. McBride is responsible for operations at Amerisure, including corporate underwriting, field marketing & underwriting, special risk, risk management, premium audit, product management and customer engagement.
She joined Amerisure in 2009 as Vice President of Internal Audit and subsequently assumed the role of Vice President of Human Resources. Most recently, she served as Amerisure’s Chief Administrative Officer, with leadership responsibility for corporate services, human resources, information technology, innovation, internal audit and the business process portfolio management office.
Prior to joining Amerisure, she held leadership roles as Head of Internal Audit and Vice President of Information Technology at Handleman Company. Her earlier experience included consulting roles at UHY LLP, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture.
Ms. McBride received a bachelor’s degree from Michigan Technological University, Houghton, Michigan.
Todd Ruthruff is the Chief Strategy Officer for Amerisure Mutual Insurance.
Mr. Ruthruff is responsible for leading Amerisure’s long-term planning, strategy development, and creation of new solutions; he also retains executive oversight for marketing, branding, corporate communications, and program business.
He began his career with Amerisure in 1989. During his tenure, Mr. Ruthruff has held roles of increasing responsibility, including Core Service Center (CSC) Manager of the company’s Charlotte office and Regional Vice President of the Tampa (formerly St. Petersburg) office. He also served as Chief Operating Officer of Agency Business Solutions, LLC (ABS), a subsidiary of Amerisure Mutual Holding, Inc.
Most recently, Mr. Ruthruff served as Amerisure’s Chief Relationship Officer, with responsibility for marketing & underwriting operations, agency relationship management and programs, developing distribution strategies, as well as providing guidance regarding markets, products, and services.
Mr. Ruthruff graduated summa cum laude from Capella University and has held his Property & Casualty insurance agent license. He currently serves on the board of Special Olympics Michigan (SOMI) and has also served on the board of directors for several insurance agencies.
Chris Spaude is the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company.
In this role, he is responsible for financial reporting; taxes; accounts payable; budget and planning; actuarial; reinsurance; and credit & billing services.
Since joining Amerisure in 2003, Mr. Spaude has held many different roles in financial services, starting in the budget department and then moving to financial planning & analysis. Treasury, accounts payable and credit & billing services were also added as responsibilities over several years. Most recently, Mr. Spaude served as the Vice President of Finance.
Mr. Spaude graduated from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Michigan, with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in finance. He also has a Master of Business Administration degree from Walsh College, Troy, Michigan.
Ms. Batchelor has been a member of Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company and the Amerisure Companies’ Board of Directors since March 1998. She currently serves as a certified professional coach and genealogist.
Previously, Ms. Batchelor worked for Eisenberg & Bogas law firm. She also served as Senior Vice President – Issues Management for the Detroit Regional Chamber. Prior to that, she was First Vice President – Civic Affairs at Comerica Inc., and Director of Corporate Relations for Michigan Consolidated Gas Company.
Ms. Batchelor holds a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University and a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University. She is admitted to practice law in Michigan and is a member of the Michigan Bar.
Mr. Brannen has been a member of Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company and the Amerisure Companies’ Board of Directors since March 2020.
Mr. Brannen most recently served as FBL Financial Group’s Chief Executive Officer until January 2020. He worked for the company for 29 years before retiring and held various key positions in finance and executive management, including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, Treasurer and Tax Vice President. Prior to working at FBL Financial Group, Mr. Brannen worked at Ernst & Young, LLC as a Tax Manager.
Mr. Brannen graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Mr. Dauch has been a member of Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company and the Amerisure Companies’ Board of Directors since December 2014. He currently serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM).
Prior to joining AAM in 1995, he held positions at Collins & Aikman Products Company.
Mr. Dauch received his Bachelor of Science from Miami University of Ohio and his Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University.
Mr. Love has been a member of Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company and the Amerisure Companies’ Board of Directors since September 2009 and was elected Chairman of the Board in May 2016.
Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of South Carolina Farm Bureau from 1990 until his retirement in 2013.
Mr. Love received his Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina.
Mr. Meador has been a member of Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company and the Amerisure Companies’ Board of Directors since January 2017. He most recently served as Vice Chairman and Chief Administrative Officer for DTE Energy until he retired in March 2022.
Mr. Meador joined DTE Energy in 1997 as Vice President and Controller and has been employed with the company ever since. He also previously served as Senior Vice President and Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of DTE Energy.
Ms. Mooradian has been a member of Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company and the Amerisure Companies’ Board of Directors since May 2018. She currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Henry Ford.
Prior to her role at The Henry Ford, Mooradian was regional director of marketing for 13 years at The Taubman Company, a shopping center developer and real estate company. Additionally, she worked as a director for Crestmark Bank and was appointed by Governor Rick Snyder as a trustee on the board of Central Michigan University, where she chaired the Trustee-Student Liaison Committee.
Mr. Morrison is the former Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Cox Enterprises and was elected to the Amerisure Board of Directors on September 30, 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from South Carolina State University and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.
Mr. Morrison currently serves on the Board of Veritiv Corporation, Rollins Inc., IEWC Corporation, Veritex Holdings Inc., as well as the nonprofit organizations Clark Atlanta University and Advocates Pro Golf Association (APGA) Tour.
Mr. Nicholson has been a member of Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company and the Amerisure Companies’ Board of Directors since May 2014 and was elected Chairman of the Board in December 2022.
Jim Nicholson is the Chairman of PVS Chemicals, Inc., a global manufacturer, distributor and marketer of chemicals and related environmental and transportation services, with locations across the country. With more than 25 years of company experience, Jim has brought insight and innovation to all aspects of the business, including information technologies, risk management and strategic growth. Along with his father and brothers, Jim is proud to carry on the tradition of a company started by his grandfather 78 years ago.
Prior to joining PVS, Jim worked in the insurance industry—serving the Amerisure Insurance Companies as an Underwriter, Aon Corporation as a Licensed Insurance Agent and Broker, and Electric Insurance Company as Vice President, Underwriting and Regulatory Affairs. Jim continues to apply this expertise and knowledge to the benefit of many organizations. Jim holds a degree in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Jim has a strong interest in the success and growth of our community. To that end, he serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the College for Creative Studies and the Board of Directors of the Amerisure Insurance Companies. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of the American Chemistry Council, Business Leaders for Michigan, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Detroit Branch, Service Wire Corporation, and Jefferson East. Jim is also Chairman Emeritus of Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan, YMCA of Metro Detroit, the Michigan Manufacturers Association, and the Nature Conservancy’s Michigan Chapter. In his free time, Jim enjoys reading, music, racquetball and skiing with his family.
